There were times when an actor or actress would be in their 20s when they join their serials. However, as the audience starts accepting the Jodi, and the characters give birth to children and the story revolves around growing up kids and their aged parents, the actors or actresses wouldn’t mind playing the roles of 50s-70s group and dyeing their hair to look old too at times.

When asked by the media and fans, the actors or actresses would say that it is the demand of the character as every story has to develop ahead of and take a leap, introduce a new generation of characters and they couldn’t remain stuck playing the young characters like when they joined the show. Agreed, but however, when a 20 years old young woman plays the role of a mother to an 18 years old new actress in the serial, it becomes a little awkward too for them to share the screen as a mother-daughter duo.

However, those were the olden days of working on television as now we have the new generation of stars who put down their papers when they hear that the story is going to take a leap and they are not comfortable to age on the screen at such a young age. The fact is now there are many opportunities for young actors due to the digital boom, web series, OTT platforms, music videos, advertisement shoots, film roles, etc. which wasn’t possible easily for everyone in those days.
So, as there is more work available, the current generation of actors and actresses bid goodbye to their serials and take a break before they search for another one. We must admire stars like Hina Khan, Shivangi Joshi, Mohsin Khan, Karan Mehra, Nishant Singh Malkani, late Sushant Singh Rajput, and many others who didn’t grey their hair and left the shows at the right point of time to create a good career.
