Bhajan king, Narendra Chanchal has died at the age of 80 years. Reports stated that Narendra Chanchal was suffering from illness for a long time after which he was admitted to the Apollo Hospital in Delhi. But today the sad news has come to light that the Bhajan king Narendra Chanchal, who has sung “Chalo Bulawa Aya hai”, has now said goodbye to the world.
Narendra Chanchal was born on 16 October 1940 in Amritsar. They remained the hallmark of Kirtans and Jagratas for the past several decades. Along with Bhajan, he also sang songs in some Bollywood films. In 1973, he was bestowed with Filmfare’s Best Male Playback Singer Award for ‘Mandir Masjid Todo’ in the Raj Kapoor film Bobby.
Previously, A clip of popular bhajan of Narendra Chanchal, singing at a Holi event in Paharganj has gone viral on the internet. The ‘corona’ bhajan goes, “Dengue vi aaya, Swine Flu vi aaya. Chickunguniya ne shor machaya. Khabre ki-ki ho na? Kitho aaya corona? Maiya Ji, Kitho aaya corona?” and is repeated by a large group of people repeating after him.. But the irony is, nobody knew, it was the last Bhajan of a legendry Singer Narendra Chanchal.
