The drama that Ram Charan will be starring in with National Award-winning Uppena director Buchi Babu Sana is coming together nicely. The crew made exciting news on music composer AR Rahman’s birthday, following Kannada superstar Shiva Rajkumar’s recent revelation that he has been brought on board for the project. Ram wished Rahman a happy birthday on X and welcomed him to the project, writing,” Happy Birthday, @aerahman sir. I wish you health and happiness always.”

The Oscar-winning composer has been tapped to write the music, as the makers also formally revealed on Saturday. The soundtrack to Buchi’s first movie, Uppena, was excellent, and his fans have great hopes for this one as well. More information about the cast and crew has not yet been released. Rahman has an extensive repertoire and has composed famous songs in Mandarin, English, Tamil, Telugu, Hindi, Persian, and Malayalam. It is unusual for the composer to write music for a Telugu project that would be dubbed in other Indian languages, even though many of his Tamil songs have also been dubbed into Telugu or he was asked to do a remake.

Prior to writing in the language for Super Police, Gangmaster, Naani, Ye Maaya Chesave, Komaram Puli, and Sahasam Swasaga Sagipo, he had only composed the background for Nippu Ravva in the 1990s. Thus, the unnamed projects represent, in a sense, his “return” to Telugu cinema after a long absence. Ram is currently filming Game Changer, Shankar’s first Telugu film. Along with Kiara Advani in the title role, the film has a strong ensemble cast in supporting parts. The movie is now under production and should be released in cinemas later this year. He will start filming Buchi’s film after closing up that project.

Rahman is slated to star in a number of Tamil, Malayalam, Hindi, and Arabic films. In addition, he is writing the music for Imtiaz Ali’s Chamkila and MANI Ratnam’s Thug Life, as well as Dhanush’s next movie. The legendary musician AR Rahman was 67 years old on Saturday. Over his more than three-decade career, the musician has written songs for numerous motion pictures. Along with these accolades, he has also won six National Film Awards, two Academy Awards, two Grammy Awards, a BAFTA Award, and was followed by Bombay. For his contribution on Slumdog Millionaire, he was awarded best original score and best original song at the 81st Academy Awards. He also won best song written for Visual Media and best compilation soundtrack album at 2010 Grammy Awards.
