As you already know the the eighth installment of the Mission: Impossible franchise was all set to be done soon so that it could hit the theatres for the actor’s fans to get entertained. However, a recent report says that the film has been postponed a year, blaming it on the latest wave of schedule juggling for Hollywood studios. This is because of the actors’ strike that actually had put work of almost three months on hold.

So, what is Mission: Impossible next installment all about? Well, the American spy action film directed by Christopher McQuarrie is based on a screenplay he co-wrote with Erik Jendresen. It is the direct sequel to Mission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning Part One. However, the release date of the film produced by Paramount Pictures has been shifted to 23 May 2025 instead of 28 June 2024.

The production of the follow-up to Christopher McQuarrie’s Mission: Impossible — Dead Reckoning Part One was stopped in July while Tom Cruise and the company went on an international promotion campaign for Dead Reckoning.
You will be amazed to note that Dead Reckoning eventually grossed $567.5 million all over the world. It is also astonishing to mention that the 163-minute-long action thriller had got some of the best reviews of the 27-year-old movie franchise. However, it was instantly overshadowed by the box-office juggernauts of Barbie and Oppenheimer.
It is not just the next installment of Dead Reckoning getting postponed but also several other Hollywood movies have pushed their release plans so that the stars can get sufficient time to promote them and convert them into the top big-screen attractions of that year.
Unfortunately, even a slew of Marvel movies such as Spider-Man: Beyond the Spider-Verse have been delayed indefinitely after it had an earlier release date of March 2024. Paramount also declared recently that A Quiet Place: Day One, a prequel to the post-apocalyptic horror series featuring Lupita Nyong’o, will have its release moved from March to when Dead Reckoning had been scheduled to release, on June 28.
There are also several negotiations going on between the Screen Actors Guild-American Federation of Television and Radio Artists and thus, the studios are scheduled to resume their functioning soon.
The 61-year-old American actor Tom Cruise has been entertaining the audience since 1981. His last year’s release Top Gun: Maverick had received several honors and went on to become the second-highest-grossing movie of 2022 and the highest-grossing of Tom’s career. He has also served as the producer of that film along with Dead Reckoning Part One and Part Two movies. Although part one of the film was a box office disappointment the makers are hoping that part two will shatter several records at the box office set by Tom through his earlier movies.
