We saw how Anupama in the Star Plus serial Anupamaa was asked to give Agni-pariksha by her ex-husband and ex-mother-in-law of her relationship with her business partner Anuj. Anupama unable to bear the torture at an emotional level decides to leave the house and this happens in the absence of her father-in-law in the home. When her father-in-law gets to know about Anupama having left the home, he understood how badly Vanraj, Kavya, and his wife might have treated him that might have led Anupama to take such an extreme decision.
Confidence is in the air for Anupama
At one end where Kavya is poisoning her mother-in-law and Vanraj’s minds about Anupama’s intentions and how she will come back to claim the half-property that they have given her as a gift. Although it was Anupama who has served for the house for the last 26 years playing different roles yet the trust level of Baa and Vanraj on Anupama is shaken seeing her newfound job as a business partner with Anuj who was her college friend.
Anupama decides to not even stay at her mom’s home and think about planning for a new future in a new home where her younger son Samar is also willing to be a support system for her. Anupama goes on the search for a rental house but when she shares that she is a divorcee, she faces rejection. With the new hopes in her mind to fly high, will Anupama be able to break the stereotypes that are associated with married or divorced women living alone in rental flats?
Will she be able to bring about a change in the society where it is okay to err and consider humanity over all other rituals and limited traditional thinking? Will Anupama break the barriers and get on to achieve her dreams of being a financially and emotionally independent woman in life?
