career is not just a job or salary or job title or job location or reputation that you earn. It is more than these things and you would know better if you have explored, learned, and implemented different things in your career life. When Radha was asked at her job interview, what is it that she would want to accomplish in her life, she responded by saying that it is the fear to be in her comfort zone that she wants to overcome, and conquer in her career and life as well.

Tips to improve your career while you work from home

Radha's life was stagnant as per her understanding. She joined the same school and college as her brother because her parents were quite overprotective. She even joined the same Commerce stream because she wasn't clear about what it is that she wants to do in her life. An understanding of her fear came when Radha's first manager told her to work on a project that she doesn't know anything about. Radha immediately got anxious thoughts and her apprehension to fail made her even write the resignation letter to her manager.

What is Job Enrichment?

The manager smiled at the letter and said that she is being too sensitive towards her life and career choices and it is her developed fear that is making her take such drastic decisions. Radha was not in the mood to listen and eventually quit the company. A few months after staying back at home, Radha realized her mistake of immediately leaving the workplace and not exploring what her manager wanted her to do so that she can come out of her comfort zone.

Radha started applying for jobs again and this time with a fresh perspective. She kept telling herself that no matter what, she has to get a job to have an independent life and this would be attainable only if she let go of her developed fears that were making it impossible for her to take brave and bold decisions. Radha got selected for a job that demanded her to work at odd times as per her family. But she didn't let go of the opportunity and became willing to work from 12 AM to 1 PM as a new start to her career.

Radha kept telling herself that no matter what negativity comes her way for choosing such an odd job with hectic timing, she will carry on and aim to complete at least one year at her new company. During the training sessions, when Radha was asked how she feels to work in the new company, she kept saying that she cries when she doesn't get proper sleep and food on the table when she feels hungry because of the odd work timings, but when she gets the salary at the end of the month that helps her do some savings, she feels satisfied.

Coming out of their comfort zone and overcoming fears that were stopping Radha grow in her career made her redefine her profession and personal life as well. Radha started taking calculated risks and prioritized her health as well over a period of time because she realized that her health is also one form of wealth.
