What is Raja Yoga Meditation?

Raja Yoga meditation is a type of meditation that has been spoken about in the Bhagavad Gita and it was made famous by Swami Vivekananda in the 19th century. Raja Yoga meditation gained acceptance and recognition all over the globe to keep up with sanity and a stable mindset. Raja means to have qualities of a king-like such as confidence, independence, and being totally aware of oneself.

Raja Yoga meditation is a spiritual process that helps one know oneself better and have control of the body using mind power. It helps one know their positive qualities that have been hidden inside oneself. This type of meditation allows one to introspect and understand the importance of silence. Raja Yoga meditation is useful for people of different backgrounds and can be followed by anyone from any part of the world at any point of time in their lives. Raja Yoga meditation is easy to practice and has a simple process that can be accommodated in one’s daily lifestyle. Practicing Raja Yoga meditation helps one remove all types of worries and useless thoughts from their minds.

One has to find a peaceful place in their house to practice Raja Yoga meditation. Early morning is the best time considering there will be fewer internal and external distractions and one can have a happy mood for the rest of their day. One has to sit in a comfortable position on a chair or on the ground/floor.

One has to live in the present moment and keep their eyes open looking at a particular point in their room. No need to strain your eyes by staring too much but just keep the focus on. Once you reduce your negative thoughts of life then you can keep saying to yourself that you are at peace with yourself. Keep the peaceful state and ensure that you don’t sit for a longer period of time. Meditation is all about doing nothing and thinking nothing, and it should last for not more than half to one hour.
