What is Giving back to your community?

A lot of the times when I check out the news and information that gets updated or highlighted on search engines or mobile apps that talk about hatred, jealousy, anger, discrimination, all I understand is the world around us has changed to a lot of extents. I remember the times when I used to travel in share autorickshaws and second-class coaches in local trains just so that I can save a little bit of money for my unwanted or uncalled expenses.

But now due to digitalization and more income coming to households from all places, people have gone a little crazy it seems. They have money to eat their do-waqt-ki-roti and 4-kapde to go out and do their work. But all they don’t have is peace of mind in doing what they are and living happily with whom they have in life. You cannot blame it on anyone as the growth happens from within and through the onset of consumption of news and information since the last 20 years or so, we have become more or less like the “news” only.

That’s why more initiatives on “giving back to the community” have to be started so that there is equality and growth for everyone concerned in the community. Say for example, you belong to a community that is situated far away from you, you can still be a part of their development by being a donor or contributor to their upcoming projects. Say you got a bonus in lakhs and you have everything you need in your life but don’t know what to do with that excess money, then just visit a government hospital and see if any of the patients badly needs an advanced treatment but is holding it as he lacks the required money. Kabhi Aise logon ki madat karke bhi dekha karo.

Say you have lots of degrees and those are not in any way related to your job, then sit down for half-hour every day and write notes for the students who are preparing for their exams. Giving back can be in cash or in kind but you need to give to your community so that when you are in dire need, the community comes to help you back.
