What is a Case Study?

A case study is the detailed understanding of a particular person, subject, group, event, happening, or organization, among others. Case studies are good to describe, compare, analyze and understand the various aspects of a research problem. A case study is also called an intensive study that happens in a systematic manner wherein the researcher examines all types of possibilities of how and why the problem occurred and what can be the probable ways to overcome the problem presented in the case.

In order to prepare a case, one needs to take down the notes and mention the important facts and underline the main problems of the subject. The subject can be an individual or a group or any non-living being too. After the problems are identified, one has to focus on the analysis of the problems and find out what can be the possible solutions or changes can be made as a review course of action to eliminate or reduce the effect of the problem. After the analysis of five to six probable solutions comes out, one needs to choose the best solution which can be implemented in a timely manner and get favorable results.
