US Embassy to resume processing student visas from 17 August

The US Embassy is going to get back to the work of processing of student and academic exchange visa application on a limited basis.

As per the Embassy, the consular sections at the US Embassy in New Delhi and its Consulates in Mumbai, Chennai, Hyderabad, and Kolkata will start the visa work from 17 August 2020.

Initially, the emergency student and exchange visitor appointment requests will be processed that were received before 12 August 2020.

After this, public appointments will be offered and appointments will be refreshed as per the availability and usually two weeks in advance.

But routine immigrant and non-immigrant visa services would remain shut and not be started anytime soon.
