1) Add people who are related to your profession or interests:

For example, if you are in the technology domain, then add new connections with people who are working in the junior, middle, and senior-level management of the same field. You can even add people from different industries and age groups but make sure they are genuine ones. How do you know if the person with whom you are connecting is a fake or genuine individual or not? Well, it is simple, Google searches their name and finds their profiles on 2 or more social media platforms. If the information mentioned by them on all the social media platforms is similar, then you are connecting with the right person. You can even visit their company website to check if their name is listed in the job position mentioned by them as that will also help you to solve your doubts about them.

2) Create a stellar profile on your social networks:

Before you connect with others, you need to seem genuine and an interesting professional who is out there in the market or industry to help others and evolve and grow with others. Your profile needs to be crisp, easy to understand, and also down-to-earth. Your attitude should be humble and kind and not someone who has a lot of degrees but doesn’t know to interact with others and respect people as they are. This will be known to others by what content you type in your profile. So, just keep it simple, crisp, clear, and transparent. To add humor in your interactions or profile-reading, you can even add some projects wherein you failed badly but learned the harsh lessons of life and are grateful that such things happened to you. After all, humans use technology to share their vulnerabilities and also evolve in life, not just brag about what they are capable of all the time.

3) Keep the language of your chats or interactions easy:

Be it WhatsApp or Instagram or Twitter or LinkedIn, know that whatever you write will be read, re-read, and even interpreted the way people or users want to understand. So, ensure before you hit the ‘publish’ or ‘post’ or ‘send’ button, you are aware of whatever has been conveyed to you. Don’t be harsh or mean to people who ask for help from you to write their CVs or recommend them to someone whom you know in your network. The more help you do to others, the higher you will reach in life now or later – remember this success mantra for sure.
