Tips to deal with a failed Class 10 student

EducationTips to deal with a failed Class 10 student

Date:

“He failed in English and Mathematics quite badly,” said my neighbor to my mother who asked about the results of her son who had appeared for Class 10 exams this year. She consoled herself by saying that not all pass with flying colors, especially in board exams. My neighbor then went on to complain about how her son missed the online lectures and kept playing video games throughout the year. She again said that not everything happens as per our desire and wishes in life. My mom said maybe he can try again and clear his papers and wished him the best of luck.

Online lectures are quite worrisome for parents who have children with distracted personalities. Like, when you are in a physical class, the presence of the teacher really puts children to at least listen to the lectures even if they have not understood anything. But this kind of e-learning is not a success mantra for each and every child and we will discuss this in detail some other day. Today, I would like to share how children who just got their class 10 results and haven’t fared well or failed badly can be encouraged to give their papers again.

Best ways to make your mom’s birthday a special one

1) Don’t scold your child who has failed:

Well, even if you are too much angry at them for scoring poor grades in class 10 exams, you need to be patient. Don’t express your negative emotions as it is to your child. This will discourage them further and make them feel like a real-time failure in life. They will show the least interest in studies, making them score more bad marks in the future exams. You need to deal with your children in a delicate manner so that they understand how they can cope with their failures.

2) Even if your child is a notorious one, be friendly:

Your child may be purposefully avoiding studying for the exams and may think studying is a waste of time. You may have had heated arguments in the past as well on the topic but you need to change your approach if you want positive results. Some children express their failure in exams in a different way. Your child may not like to be termed “failure for life”, so you need to know the knack of dealing with him with full understanding, faith, and support. You can offer help to sit with him or her to study for the future exams.

3) If your child stops talking to you after failed exam results:

Change the atmosphere. You cannot expect a person to give his or her best in disturbed environments. You can take him or her to a place of their choice and narrate to them your life experiences of coming this far in your life after facing many mistakes and failures in life. You can encourage them to take up tuition and dedicate a few hours of the day to their next exams. They will listen to you if you know to convince your child in the way they would like to hear and understand.
