Tamil Nadu schools cut down 40% of its syllabus

Tamil Nadu School Education Minister K A Sengottaiyan said that 40% of the syllabus for school students has been lowered for the academic year 2020-21.

The decision has been taken based on an expert committee’s suggestion seeing the current situation of coronavirus pandemic.

The committee had 18 members who ensured to reduce the syllabus and submitted their report for the same last month.

The state government in the month of May had set up a committee to look into the matter of school education’s future in the coronavirus situation.

Since March this year, schools and colleges have been closed in order to curb the spread of the deadly virus.

The minister also said that the revised syllabus of the state will help students in the long run while appearing for any competitive exams conducted by the central government.
