Sikkim to reopen schools and colleges from 15 June

Sikkim Education Minister KN Lepcha has announced that the state plans to reopen the schools and colleges from June 15.

Classes of 9 to 12 grade are expected to start while classes from nursery to 8 grade will not be conducted.

Morning assemblies will be cancelled due to social distancing norms that needs to be followed in the current scenario.

Two months back, coronavirus lockdown was imposed all over the country to stop the spread of the deadly disease.

Schools and colleges were shutdown nationwide to save lives of children.

As of now, no coronavirus case has been reported form Sikkum and hence, the decision to reopen schools and colleges has been called for.

However, social distancing and wearing of masks will be followed when the classes reopen.

On Friday, India’s total tally of coronavirus cases has crossed over 1,18,000 with around 41% recovery rate.
