Due to an increase of Covid-19 instances in Uttar Pradesh, all schools and universities in the state have been ordered to close until January 23, 2022. This information is tweeted by ACS Navneet Sehgal to prevent the spread of the coronavirus and to ensure the safety of the students within the state.

In light of the massive number of Covid-19 cases, the Uttar Pradesh government made a late-night decision on January 5 to close its schools for kids up to class 10 from January 6 to January 16. While physical classes were canceled, online classes went on as planned.
Several other states are also delaying school closures owing to an increase in Covid-19 cases across the country.

However, the state government is planning to increase the night curfew timing and also ensure that the people will not face any difficulties in accessing their basic needs. Consequently, it has been decided to extend the night curfew timing that shifts from 11 pm-5 am to 10 pm-6 am.
