Prayagraj parents hesitate to send children to schools

The government of Uttar Pradesh has announced that classes 9 to 12 students can attend schools from 19 October 2020 as per the new unlock phase.

However, a study says that parents of Prayagraj school students are not willing to send their students to schools.

The district basic education department officials say that parents of 82.5 per cent of students are not yet mentally prepared to agree with the government’s decision.

The hesitation of parents has come from the suggestions taken by principals of 1,079 secondary schools of Prayagraj.

17.5 per cent parents who are okay to send their kids to schools hail from rural areas of the district.

Urban areas parents are afraid that their beloved children will catch the coronavirus if they are sent to schools for completing their studies.

Although hygiene and cleanliness are being followed by the school campuses, still the fear of the pandemic is prevalent in Prayagraj.
