New Delhi: After all the apprehensions and protests, the Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) for admission in engineering on Tuesday started. On the first day of the exam, 60 percent of the students participated.
8.58 lakh students have registered for this exam. It is being conducted over six days at 660 centers in 12 shifts. Students exiting the examination said that not only masks but also sanitizers were given in the examination centers to prevent social distancing and corona infection.
On the question asked about the paper, most of the students said that students studying will get good marks. Director General of NTA, Dr. Vineet Joshi said that no untoward incident was reported from any examination center in the country.
Union Education Minister Ramesh Pokhriyal Nishank said that the first priority of the government is not to spoil the year of the students. In order to conduct such a big examination in the country during the Corona period, the Center has talked with the Chief Ministers of the States, the Education Minister, the Education Secretaries, to help the students reach the examination center while streamlining the transport system.
