Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU) Starts Online Programme of MA in Journalism and Mass Communication

The Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU) started an online MA in Journalism and Mass Communication (MAJMC) programme on January 14 to empower the online education system. This programme will be open to students from all over the world and will begin in January 2022.

Vice-Chancellor of IGNOU, Prof. Nageshwar Rao, began the online MAJMC programme. In his inaugural presentation, the VC emphasised that the MAJMC Online curriculum is cutting-edge and includes all aspects of journalism and mass communication. In addition to English, he added that the University will launch MAJMC in regional languages such as Hindi and other languages.

The Master’s Degree in Journalism and Mass Communication is designed to develop talented media and communication professionals who have a holistic understanding of media as an instrument for change and development.

To be eligible to apply, students must have a bachelor’s degree in any discipline. They should be able to use computers, access the internet, and have a basic understanding of word processing.

Prof. Uma Kanjilal, IGNOU’s Pro-Vice-Chancellor, emphasised MAJMC’s distinctive features, which include a variety of media courses that might be valuable to a wide range of students.
