HRD ministry has decided to ensure school students continue with their education by staying at home. Due to coronavirus pandemic in India, the government has closed down all the schools, colleges and universities till further notice. Thus, the ministry is planning to come up with 12 Direct to Home (DTH) channels on television, which means one channel for one class.
The one class, one channel plan will show appropriate study-related content for every class. The senior government officials are hoping the NCERT and CBSE to come up with the right content to run such channels.
As internet is unreachable for every class and segment of the society, the HRD ministry is planning to use the medium of television and radio to help class 1 to 12 students continue their education without any loss of time and money.
These free DTH channels are an alternative to online learning and will cover high-quality curriculum courses for the benefit of the students
Free DTH channels for higher education segment is also being worked upon by the ministry so that the young population do not lose out their precious years of getting educated.
