Got multiple work projects? Tips for time management

If you are someone who has been working from home since the start of the coronavirus pandemic, then you know better than anyone else how you have been dealing with your office work all this while. It is quite natural to get angry at times when you are unable to meet your work targets as given to you by your team leader. After all, there is a lot of negativity all around. Moreover, internet fluctuations happen, electricity gets cut on some days, some panicked messages come from relatives who have their personal issues to be sorted, and then there are a lot of distractions at the home itself to put you on low productivity mode at times.

In case, you are someone who likes to take one thing at a time, and suddenly you got multiple projects with a quicker deadline, instead of becoming anxious, let’s focus on how you will manage the workload without affecting the work and your health. First and foremost, you need to come out of the distractions mode at your home by minimizing them and efforts have to be put from your end to a larger extent. Secondly, you need to prepare a timetable of what projects you have got at work and how it is going to fit in your working hours.

If you think you need to put in extra hours for some days so that you get the hang of your new projects, then that is fine. Just make sure it doesn’t disturb your sleep and eating schedule and other important personal life schedules. Timing is very important, you shouldn’t spend a lot of hours and at the same time, not invest in time only to complete the work – these are like two extremes of time management that need to be avoided. You need to learn to prioritize and if you are a fresher then take guidance from your seniors and with practice, you would understand how much time needs to be allocated to which project and complete them off accordingly.
