New Delhi: The Narendra Modi government of the Center said on Wednesday that it has decided to admit girls cadets in all the military schools of the country from the academic session 2021-22. In a written reply to a question in the Lok Sabha, Minister of State for Defense Shripad Naik has given information about this.
The minister said that after the success of the pilot project for the enrollment of girl cadets in Chiningchip Sainik School, Mizoram in the academic session 2018-19, the government has decided that from the academic session 2021-22, the girls cadets with boys in all military schools will be Will be admitted
Significantly, there are 33 Sainik Schools running in the country right now. He also said that the government has proposed a new scheme for the establishment of Sainik Schools in alliance with NGOs, private schools and state governments.
Explain that Sainik Schools are run by Sainik School Society which is under the administrative control of the Ministry of Defense. The purpose of setting up Sainik Schools is to prepare students for entry into the Indian Armed Forces from an early age.
Sainik schools are established on receipt of specific requests from state governments. Earlier, only boy cadets were allowed to enroll in military schools. According to a separate question, Naik said that no formation or unit has been withdrawn from the northeastern states during 2020-21.
