DDMA and Manish Sisodia will hold a meeting today to reopen the schools in Delhi

Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia said on Wednesday that the reopening schools will be examined with the Delhi Disaster Management Authority (DDMA), which has summoned a meeting on Thursday to debate on reducing the limitations in the national capital.

Sisodia stated that the Delhi government will advocate the reopening of schools in the national capital at the DDMA meeting since it is now vital to avert further harm to children’s social and emotional well-being.

Sisodia, who believes that online education will never be able to replace traditional education, claims that the government has shuttered schools when conditions were unsafe for children, but that over-vigilance is currently harming pupils.

“Schoolchildren’s lives have been limited to their rooms for the previous two years. “Instead of going to school and spending time in playgrounds, they now spend all of their time on their phones,” Sisodia explained.

He went on to say that the pandemic-related school cancellations had a negative impact on their academics as well as their emotional health. “During COVID, the safety of the youngsters was our top focus. But, now that multiple studies have proven that COVID is not as damaging to children as previously thought, it is critical to reopen the schools, as exams and related preparations are approaching,” Sisodia stated.

He also mentioned that schools are being reopened in a number of countries, including numerous Indian states.

“On this premise, the Delhi Government will recommend that schools be reopened at the DDMA meeting on January 27,” he said.
