With more than a year of the outbreak of novel coronavirus disease all over the world, we are finding new ways of living our normal lives and carrying out our regular activities. The pandemic is not yet over and there is a rising number of COVID-19 cases all over the country and the world.
With India having a population of over 140 crores, it is obvious that the human-to-human transmission of the deadly virus is going to lead to huge destruction that humanity has not even seen or heard of before. Several reports claim that the number of new infections and deaths is being underreported to avoid more panic in the country, whether it is true or fake, the fact is every day the virus is infecting a set of new people, and every day there are deaths happening all over the country.
The new normal is a concept that has been encouraged to practice so that we can be a part of the new future. Change is the law of life and nature and hence, the rules involved in the new normal will also keep changing from time to time as and as the pandemic evolves and mutates.
Some things that we have observed in the new normal are doing office work from home. There were times when people used to consider work from home as something that doesn’t add productivity at the workplace and hence, there used to be hardly any jobs for work from home. Married women with children or people who live in remote areas were given work from home options but now work from home has become a part and parcel of every job, right from HR to marketing to a manager. People are finding out new ways of making sure that their office work is being carried out effectively from home with the help of technological devices like computers, laptops, mobile phones, etc.
Another thing involved in the new normal includes wearing masks and washing hands regularly with soap water. One has to follow this practice for quite a while even if the vaccine has come in India and many parts of the world. The virus doesn’t like unclean places and crowded people, hence social distancing is a new norm that has to be followed everywhere, be it home, office, market, etc.
