Any human resources professional who has appointed walk-in employees is quite aware of the need for workforce training and developing the manpower in a company. In order to make sure there is regular customer service and employee retention has been increased, every company should be able to engage in manpower development.
Manpower training and development is based on the analysis of how skilled the staff has to be so that the organization can grow and develop. The researcher suggested that the management should be able to support the staff training at all levels and also determine reasonable funds for manpower training and development.
Some ways to develop manpower include working effectively, training the staff, quality of training, selecting the right person for the right job, doing management training properly, rewarding and recognizing the employees. Induction, on-the-job, and off-the-job are some of the training methods for manpower development.
For example: During the first wave of the coronavirus pandemic, the lockdown restrictions made it challenging for companies to retain their employees, and thus, many were laid off and even asked to quit the organizations. New work from home and remote jobs were created so that the companies could accommodate the employees’ work which was not being able to be done due to the lockdown restrictions. Now the lockdown made companies adopt new manpower training strategies so that employees remain with the company for a longer-term. Online training strategies like Zoom meetings, WhatsApp discussions, and phone and email coordination was adopted to get the work done at the right time from the new employees and regular employees were trained to adopt digital modes of working for many job roles.
