Innovation in simple words means the introduction of something new that has been never heard or seen before. Innovation means a new idea, method, or device that has not been experienced by the users earlier and it provides a first-time awareness to the people using the same. Innovation is being and thinking out of the box and not fitting in, which means not repeating the same old patterns of living and thinking.
Online education is an innovative idea that came to someone long back which creates online and distance learning universities in the world some 50 years ago. In India, the Indira Gandhi National Open University was set up by the government in 1985 to provide easier access to education to one and all people of all age groups and income groups. Wasn’t it an innovative idea that came to India and helped many learners who just couldn’t continue their college or higher education due to a lack of a support system in their lives?
A website or a blog is an innovative idea that has changed the way information reaches out to people in the digital era. Back in the olden ways, the traditional forms of reaching out to people were through newspapers and radio. But someone or a group of people came together to set up the internet in the world making life easier for people to get access to information and news.
Innovation has been even in the way we have our breakfast, lunch, and dinner. I remember my grandparents telling me that they had nothing in their homes except fruits and vegetables in their backyard. They used to eat fruits as it is and vegetables they used to cook using fire. And see now the kitchens of modern-day homes where you will find all sorts of kitchen equipment like cooking gas, oven, microwave, fridge, mixer, etc. to help us get our favorite dishes made at the comfort of our homes within minutes and hours.
