Digital wellness is knowing the coping skills to deal in the digital world. Digital wellness is important in the 21st century, considering we are living in a multi-device world. There is a smartphone in your pocket, a laptop in your bag, a TV set in your room, Alexa on your table, Tablet in your drawer, and several other electronic devices that are all over your world. You may think that these things are really important to be kept in today's times because communication is the key.

What is Digital Partnership?

But when communication becomes too much using so many electronic devices, then digital well-being goes for a toss. I have seen many breakups happening just over a call or WhatsApp messages. I have seen many employees sharing terrifying stories of how their bosses keep a tab on their social media profiles and their whereabouts. So, this kind of harassment done on a digital level actually leads to the development of several mental health issues among people.

We cannot get rid of technology at least till we are alive. Because technology has replaced a lot of things and has become an important mode of communication, living, and even learning in recent times. So, in order to ensure that technology doesn't rule us and we have control over the devices that we use, we need to be smart. We need to use our human brains so that we are using the technology for a less period and not get addicted to the same completely.

Digital wellness comes when you know how to use your digital devices in the most suitable manner without allowing them to affect you at the physical and mental levels. If your partner likes to spend with you without any electronic device and at home, then ensure that you switch off all the devices. If your boss says that you need to focus only on the work at hand and not on the updates that come on your mobile phone about what others are doing, then so be it. If your partner and boss don't tell these things to you, then you inculcate these healthy habits for your digital health.

Being online always will not give you more marketing leads if that is how you think. But being online or available for selected hours can help you work well, reach out to better customers who may make the purchasing decisions, and also recommend your company to others. If you think your boyfriend wants to know each and everything you are doing on social media or WhatsApp, then don't think you are promoting digital health. But you are only increasing the toxicity in your relationship.

Fixing timings to your mobile phones and electronic devices will help you to use them wisely instead of exploiting the opportunities that the technology offers you. This way you won't have to rush to a store to buy a new smartphone after every two years because reducing your usage of smartphones and electronic devices will make you use them for a longer duration than a short span of time.
