Classes 10, 12 in Goa schools reopen amid coronavirus

Students who are studying in Classes 10 and 12 in Goa can be relieved now as the school authorities have decided to reopen the schools from today.

This is after the schools were closed in Goa for almost eight months because of the coronavirus pandemic.

However, the state government has asked the school officials to follow the coronavirus safety protocols strictly such as thermal screening of students, hand sanitising, wearing of masks, social distancing in classrooms.

Goa Chief Minister Pramod Sawant had declared on November 4 that all the COVID-19 safety measures must be followed by the schools and colleges in the state.

On the first day of the school, the attendance was very less as only half of the students in a class were called upon to remain present, said a senior official of a city-based school in Goa.
