New Delhi: CBSE told the Supreme Court that the results of class XII will be decided on the performance in class 10 (30% weightage), class 11 and class 12 (40% weightage). The decision has been taken to add 10th, 11th and 12th numbers for CBSE 12th result. The 13-member CBSE panel has agreed on the way to prepare the results by adding the numbers of 10th, 11th and 12th in the ratio 30:30:40. The Attorney General on behalf of the Central Government in the Supreme Court said that the CBSE results will be out on July 31.
A member of the panel set up to decide the evaluation criterion said that he has discussed with Navodaya Vidyalayas, CBSE, affiliated schools and other schools run by the Centre. It came to the fore that this time the 12th batch has gone completely online. So there is a lot of uncertainty. Classes have not been conducted in normal conditions and assessment has not been done completely. The AG also said that the students who are not satisfied with the marks/grading through the current mechanism can do better and improve their marks by appearing in the examinations. The situation of corona gets better or as the situation normalizes or the institutions feel.
In the Supreme Court, CBSE said that the result committee decided on the weightage based on the credibility of the examination, the policy of the schools is to give more marks in the preboard, so the result committee will be constituted for each of the thousands of CBSE schools, The two senior most teachers and the teacher from the neighboring school will act as a “moderation committee” to ensure that the school does not exaggerate the marks, which will assess the performance of the students over the past three years.
On behalf of the central government, the Supreme Court was told that the CBSE 12th results will be declared by July 31, children who are not satisfied with the results will be given a chance to re-exam, for this a guideline is being made. The Center said that CBSE has faced this unprecedented crisis for the first time.
Let us inform that on June 4, CBSE had constituted a 13-member committee to decide the assessment policy. The committee was given ten days to prepare the report. Many types of assessment are being discussed regarding the result, in this there is also a way that the board can prepare the result on the basis of the final marks of 10th and internal evaluation of 12th. Apart from this, the government had already decided that if the students are not happy with their results, then they will be able to apply for improvement in marks if the situation worsens due to Corona.
