Can reading books alone make you intelligent?

Intelligence is based on the person’s knowledge and experiences of the practical world. It is obvious that one has to read books to gain more knowledge. With the boom of the internet and lots of websites imparting information and knowledge, we have more access to resources that we can explore to understand and make us smarter and intelligent.

However, only books won’t suffice because we need to get practical exposure to real-world incidents as well. We need to come out of our comfort zones at times and when needed so that we can know how things work in reality. We also need to have that confidence to face life boldly and as it comes. We shouldn’t feel threatened when any uncertain situations happen in our lives.

This kind of wisdom and knowledge comes only when we are adept at both types of life situations. We need to be prepared to face the right as well and wrong also. We should not feel sad when any problem occurs because problems make us stronger and remove all the fears about ourselves and others over a period of time. You reach that stage in your life where you feel you have nothing to lose and all you have is a situation that is passing through you like a cloud.

Once the situations are passed, you will emerge more strong and powerful than you were before. You need not worry about what others will think or how you will be perceived if there is any sort of misunderstanding or failure on your part. You can take each instance as a life lesson and that you can even learn from the lessons that other people have written in their books. Something is better than nothing so even books also help to provide knowledge but the scope is always limited as compared to practical life experiences.
