Bengal’s educational institutes to be shut till November end

The West Bengal government has announced that all educational institutes will continue to remain shut till 30 November.

It means all campus-related or schools and colleges’ activities will remain stopped till further notice of the resuming of the educational sector.

Theatres outside containment zones are allowed to operate with 50% occupancy.

In a circular released, the state government also mentioned that cultural functions, religious gatherings and other congregations may be allowed outside containment zones in open space. However, safety measures must be followed compulsorily.

Also, swimming pools will remain closed for public use but it can be used for training of sports persons.

The government has plans to start lectures in colleges and universities from 1 December, but whether it will be conducted online or offline, the decision is yet to be made.

With regards to resuming of schools and colleges, the decision will be taken by Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee after Kali Puja.
