Lucknow: Over the alarming rise in coronavirus cases in Uttar Pradesh, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has asked the State Medical Education Minister, Suresh Khanna to monitor the current situation of oxygen supply and its projected use in the next 15 days.

CM Yogi, who is in self-isolation after testing positive for Covid undertook a comprehensive review to ensure adequate medical grade oxygen supply in the state, amid a massive surge in demand for critical COVID-19 patients with the senior officials on Sunday.

“Uninterrupted supply of oxygen should be ensured in all the hospitals for the next 36 hours and oxygen cylinders should be regularly replaced in all districts”, instructed the CM.

During the meeting, CM Yogi, while taking a detailed review of the current availability of oxygen in the state, asked the medical education minister, Suresh Khanna to access the demand, review the availability of medical oxygen and maintain its adequate supply on a daily basis to ensure synergy across hospitals and the state government.

“Continuous supply of oxygen to COVID hospitals in all districts must be ensured. The control room set up by the Food Safety and Drug Administration Department in connection with this, should also remain active 24 hours,” the CM said.

To cater to the increased demand of oxygen amid the surge in cases of infection in UP, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has instructed the officials to set up 10 oxygen plants in the state.
