Kanpur: Corona virus outbreak does not seem to stop. The infection continues to increase. Meanwhile, the city of Kanpur has emerged as a corona hotspot. There are a total of 170 cases, of which about one-third of the patients are reported to be children studying in three madarsas. Their number is 53.
According to district health and administrative officials, members of the Tablighi Jamaat are expected to be infected with students of the madrasa, who returned to the city in March after attending Markaz.
Kanpur City District Magistrate Brahma Dev Tiwari says that there are many hotspots in the district, but a large number of cases have been reported from three madrasas in the last 12 days. The infected people have very young children who are studying in these madarsas. The good thing is that most are recovering.
The DM said that out of the three madarsas, the highest number of cases have been reported in Kuli Bazar madrasa, about 38 corona positives have been found here. This is followed by a madarsa near the Haate Wali Mosque, which emerged as a hotspot due to the Tablighi Jamaat’s connections. According to state monitoring officer Vikasendu Agarwal, Kuli Bazaar could become the state’s largest hotspot after the Sadar area of Lucknow, where more than 80 positive cases have been reported.
