New Delhi: Amidst the spurt in corona cases in the country, the scientific advisor of the government has issued another warning. He has said that the third wave of Corona in the country cannot be avoided. During the briefing, Dr. K Vijay Raghavan said that vaccine would need to be updated to counter the new strain, along with speed up the vaccination program. And a large number of people have lost their lives due to this.
He said, ‘Given the high level at which the corona virus is spreading, the third phase of phase-3 (corona wave) cannot be avoided. Although it is not clear when this phase 3 will come, but we have to be cautious about the third wave. The vaccine needs to be monitored as it is upgraded.
He said that we have informed the state governments to take necessary steps. The effect of UK variants is now diminishing and new variants are showing effects. According to the government, more than one lakh corona virus patients are under treatment in 12 states including Maharashtra, Karnataka, Kerala and Uttar Pradesh. Karnataka, Kerala, Tamil Nadu, West Bengal, Rajasthan and Bihar are among the states where there is an increasing trend in daily affairs. Principal Scientific Advisor K Vijay Raghavan said that a long Covid wave of this intensity was not predicted in the country.
