Mumbai: Corona virus infection continues to increase in Maharashtra and the number of Covid-19 infected in the state has crossed 80 thousand. On Friday, 2436 people were found positive with corona virus in Maharashtra, while 139 people lost their lives due to the epidemic.
“A record 139 deaths due to corona virus were recorded in Maharashtra today (Friday) and this is the highest number of deaths due to Covid-19 in a day in the state,” the state health department said.
Health Department said, “In Maharashtra today, 2436 persons tested positive for Covid-19. After this the total cases in the state have increased to 80229, in which 2849 deaths have been reported and 35156 patients have been cured.”
On Thursday, 1,442 new cases of corona virus infection were reported in Mumbai, after which the metropolitan population reached 44704, while 1,465 people have died due to the epidemic. According to Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation, Mumbai is currently under treatment for 25141 people. The civic body said that till now 18,098 patients in Mumbai have been cured of the disease.
