
Parkash Singh Badal, a senior leader of the Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) and a former Punjab chief minister, was hospitalised in Ludhiana on Wednesday. 19 January after testing positive for COVID19.
Sukhbir Singh Badal, his son and the president of the SAD, said, “He’s fine now, albeit he did have a little temperature. As a precaution, we admitted him to the hospital.”

Badal is stable, according to hospital officials, and is being treated in a separate room. The lab had received all of the essential studies for a thorough evaluation.
Badal has been suffering from a cough, cold, and fever for the past three days, according to senior Akali politician Maheshinder Singh Grewal. Akali personnel began gathering at the cardiac facility as word of the Badal’s hospitalisation spread.

The party recently released a photo of Badal campaigning door-to-door in his hometown of Lambi. He was rarely photographed wearing a mask.
