New Delhi: The number of corona patients in India has now crossed 1.5 million, while 4,344 people have died so far. According to covid19india.org, 1,50,739 cases of corona infection have been reported so far in India. Of these, 82,112 are active cases while 64,272 are cured after treatment. There have been 5,789 new cases in the last 24 hours while 170 people have died. This is the second highest number of deaths in a single day in India. Earlier on May 4, 175 people died from Corona.
According to the Ministry of Health, a total of 60,490 patients have been cured of the corona virus so far. The recovery rate continues to improve and is currently 41.61 percent. The death rate in India is the lowest among other countries of the world, it is now 2.87 percent.
In a press conference on Tuesday, Joint Secretary from the Ministry of Health, Luv Agarwal said that on May 1, the recovery rate was 25.37 percent, which has increased to more than 41 percent. The rate of deaths is also the lowest in India as compared to the rest of the world. The death rate has come down from 3.3 percent on April 15 to 2.87 percent, which is the lowest in the world.
