Mumbai: The Maharashtra government has raised door-to-door demand for corona vaccination, on which the central government has also indicated that it is not possible at the moment. Also, the Health Ministry has also clarified that it has not received any formal request from the Government of Maharashtra in this regard. The highest number of cases of corona are being reported in Maharashtra.
On the logistic challenges of door to door vaccine, the Health Secretary said, “This vaccine is only for adults, which is different from the all-in-one vaccination program in which India has decades of experience.” Health Secretary Rajesh Bhushan said, “We are not only focusing on the vaccination of adults, but there may be adverse physical events after vaccination.” For this, the person taking the vaccine is kept under observation for 30 minutes. But yet the central government has not received any request for door to door corona vaccination yet.
Earlier, the chief of Brihanmumbai Corporation, Iqbal Chahal, told reporters that we have requested the Maharashtra government to ask the Center for door-to-door vaccinations. Chahal had said that when the central team visited 10 days ago, he was asked to go from house to house for permission for vaccination. The issue was also raised in the meeting held during the video conferencing last week between the Center and the states.
