Mumbai: This year, till June 1 in the city of Mumbai, 80% of the people infected with coronavirus have been cured. In such a situation, the possibility of reaching the peak of a possible third wave of coronavirus in Mumbai is slim. Scientists of Tata Institute of Fundamental Research (TIFR), the country’s renowned research institute doing basic research, have expressed this possibility in their report.
Based on the data of infection and the report of the sero survey conducted so far, this analysis report of TIFR states that till June 1 this year, 80% of the people in Mumbai have been cured due to corona. 90% of these belong to slums and 70% to buildings.
The study report of TIFR says that these people are under herd immunity. If the third wave comes, it will not be more dangerous than the second wave. According to the report, people who were infected in the first wave may be re-infected due to reduced levels of antibodies, but this depends on the changed speed of the variant and the speed of the vaccine along with its efficiency or effectiveness.
