New Delhi: Jharkhand Chief Minister Hemant Soren isolated himself at his residence in Ranchi after a minister was found infected. Jharkhand’s drinking water and sanitation minister Mithilesh Thakur has been confirmed to be infected with the corona virus and was admitted to the Rajendra Institute of Medical Sciences (RIMS) here late on Tuesday. A RIMS spokesperson said Thakur was found infected Tuesday evening after which he has been admitted to RIMS. People who came in contact with the minister are being traced. This is the first case of Corona virus infection in the Council of Ministers in the state.
The Chief Minister said that my fellow cabinet ministers Mithilesh Thakur and MLA Mathura Mahato have been found infected with Corona. Both are currently in government hospital. As a precaution, I will also be in self isolation for the next few days from today. I will perform all the necessary tasks in this sequence. The citizens are again urged to avoid visiting crowded areas as much as possible. Do use the mask. If there is no mask, then cover your face with a cloth. Keep distance among themselves, but keep the hearts connected.
