New Delhi: Amidst the fear of a third wave of corona virus infection in the country, Dr Randeep Guleria, Director, AIIMS said that we need to further strengthen the public health system. We also need to take lessons from the past, so that the third wave ofC ovid-19 can be dealt with.
AIIMS Director Dr Randeep Guleria said that there is no need to repair health facilities because the epidemic is going on at this time, but we also need to focus on health facilities because we understand what we have seen in the last 15 years. We have to prepare ourselves in advance for future epidemics and infections.
“As we prepare to anticipate a third wave of COVID-19 and new variants like the Delta Plus, it is important to see what we can do,” he said at the CII Public Health virtual conference. We need to move forward and take into account the past experiences to see what we can do for our public health system.
AIIMS Director said that with the changing times, we also need to change our public health system. Ayushman Bharat-PMJAY is such a step, it has brought a big change in the field of health care. He said that India’s public health policy has been designed keeping in mind the provision of standard treatment to the people at the primary health level, with the aim of reaching health facilities in rural and remote areas to those who need it.
