New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi praised the efforts to make vaccine in the country to meet the challenge of Corona epidemic and said that the government will fully cooperate in it.
In a meeting here today, Shri Modi reviewed the development of covid-19 vaccine as well as testing techniques, identification of contacts, medicine and its treatment etc. “Amidst the emerging challenges of covid-19, the efforts made by Indian vaccine manufacturers and vaccine makers are commendable and the government will cooperate fully in any such endeavor,” he said. He said that regulatory reform is a continuous process and the experts and emerging sectors coming forward in all fields should be actively used by the regulator.
The Prime Minister also inquired about the overall distribution of the vaccine and the arrangements and existing mechanisms of the Ministry of Health to make it accessible to the people. This includes adequate procurement, the technology of its storage on a large scale and its transport to different areas and its safe distribution among the people.
Modi instructed to increase sero survey and testing. He said that a system of inexpensive, accessible and rapid testing should be ensured for all. He underscored the need to accelerate and maintain consistency in the validation and scientific testing of treatments with traditional medicines. He lauded the efforts of the Ministry of AYUSH for initiating evidence based research and providing reliable solutions during this difficult time.
