New Delhi: Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK) MLA J. Ambajagan has died of a corona infection. The DMK MLA was found to be Corona positive a week ago. He was undergoing treatment at a private hospital in Chennai. Where he died on Wednesday morning. J. Ambajagan died on his 62nd birthday. Ambajagan was also the DMK secretary in Chennai West district. This is the first case in the country of the death of a public representative from Corona virus.
Last Tuesday, DMK MLA Ambazhagan’s corona test was done after reports of breathing problems and cold-fever were reported positive. Since then, he was admitted to Dr. Raila Institute and Medical Center, Chennai. The 62-year-old MLA also had a kidney disease. According to the hospital’s CEO, Dr. Ilankumar Kaliyamurthy, the legislator’s condition deteriorated from Monday evening. He was shifted to the Critical Care Unit (ICU).
