Delhi HC directs Kejriwal govt to provide medical facility to all Covid-19 patients

New Delhi: The Delhi High Court on Thursday directed the Delhi government to provide a facility for treatment to all Delhi residents, suffering from Covid-19.

A division bench comprising of Justice Vipin Sanghi and Justice Rekha Palli was hearing a petition filed for a seriously affected 52-year-old Covid-19 patient who needed an ICU bed ventilator.

Article 21 of the Constitution guarantees the most basic fundamental right – the life to life and liberty – to every person, the bench observed.

The bench also clarified that only because he had approached the court, didn’t give him an advantage over others suffering from the pandemic.
