New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday expressed concern about the increasing crowd of tourists in the northeastern states and the high infection rate in the northeastern states. He said that our health workers have worked harder than last year. The states of the North-East have prevented vaccine wastage to a great extent. The four states where some deficiency is visible, it is expected that there will be improvement in the performance. The positivity rate has increased in some districts of the northeastern states. We have to be alert, keep alerting people. To stop the infection, we have to take more strict steps at the micro level.
The Prime Minister said that we have to keep an eye on every variant of Corona. It is polymorphic, changes its form time and again and creates challenges for us too. We will have to keep a close eye on each variant.
PM Modi said that tourism, business have been greatly affected due to Corona. In hilly areas, without wearing a mask in the market, without following the protocol, the gathering of huge crowd is a matter of concern. This is not right. It is important to pay attention to how to prevent the corona wave from coming. The virus does not come on its own. If someone goes and brings it, it comes.
The PM said that stopping the arrival of the third wave is a major issue. We do not have to compromise on following the corona protocol. Experts are also repeatedly warning that due to inattention, carelessness and overcrowding, there can be a huge jump in corona infection. Steps should be taken at every level. We should try to prevent crowd from gathering.
