COVID-19: India recorded 46,148 new cases, 979 deaths in last 24 hours

New Delhi: After 46,148 new cases of Covid-19 were reported in India in a day, the number of infected people in the country increased to 3,02,79,331. At the same time, after the death of 979 more people due to infection, the death toll increased to 3,96,730. The number of people who lost their lives due to infection has been so low in the country after 76 days.

According to the latest data released by the Union Health Ministry, the number of patients under treatment in the country has also come down to 5,72,994. The national recovery rate of patients in the country has also increased to 96.80 percent. In the last 24 hours, there has been a total decrease of 13,409 cases under treatment. So far, a total of 40,63,71,279 samples have been tested for COVID-19, out of which 15,70,515 samples were tested on Sunday.

According to the data, out of 979 people who died due to infection in the last 24 hours in the country, 405 people were from Maharashtra, 91 people from Tamil Nadu, 89 people from Karnataka, 75 people from Uttar Pradesh and 62 people from Kerala. According to the ministry’s data, so far 3,96,730 people have died due to infection in the country, out of which 1,21,286 people from Maharashtra, 34,743 people from Karnataka, 32,290 people from Tamil Nadu, 24,965 people from Delhi, 22,518 people from Uttar Pradesh. There were 17,612 people from West Bengal, 15,991 people from Punjab and 13,431 people from Chhattisgarh.
