Lucknow: Uttar Pradesh government on Tuesday announced to provide free vaccination to people above the age of 18 years in the state.
In a virtual cabinet meeting held under the chairmanship of Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, the ministers passed a resolution to thank Prime Minister Narendra Modi for providing Covid vaccination facility to persons above 18 years of age from May 1.
Welcoming the decision of the Prime Minister, the Chief Minister said that better vaccine management as well as extensive vaccination work would prove to be important in defeating the corona.
In view of this, the State Government has decided to provide free vaccination to people above 18 years of age. The state government will pursue the vaccination program with its own resources, the CM announced.
During the deliberations, the Chief Minister said that the Health Department should work out an action plan to conduct the vaccination campaign on a large scale.
