The world is facing huge health emergency with the breakout of the coronavirus and in India several stars have already pledged to ensure that they do their bit by not just spreading a word of caution but also stepping up and assisting with financial support towards the cause of fighting coronavirus cases in the country.

Akshay Kumar won millions of hearts in a second when he announced that he would be contributing a mega amount of Rs. 25 crores from his savings to the PM-CARES Fund in the nation’s fight against the pandemic. The actor’s encouraging tweet came after Prime Minister Narendra Modi shared how one could donate towards the cause even with a small amount.

In his tweet Akshay wrote, “This is that time when all that matters is the lives of our people. And we need to do anything and everything it takes. I pledge to contribute Rs 25 crores from my savings to @narendramodiji’s PM-CARES Fund. Let’s save lives, Jaan hai toh jahaan hai.”

Often associated with furthering social causes through his films and starring patriotic dramas, Akshay’s magnanimous support to the cause certainly does encourage one to do every bit we can as a nation to help fight this crisis.
