Ahmedabad: With 228 new cases of Covid-19 reported in Gujarat, the number of infected in the state has increased to 1,604. A health officer gave this information. State Principal Secretary (Health) Jayanthi Ravi on Sunday said that out of the total new cases of Covid-19, 140 cases are in Ahmedabad and the number of infected patients has reached 1,002 in the district.
He said that apart from this, 67 new cases were reported in Surat, eight in Vadodara, five in Rajkot, two each in Banaskantha and Bhavnagar, one each in Botad, Chhota Udaipur and Mehsana.
A total of 1,443 infected persons are under treatment in Gujarat. Nine of these patients are placed on ventilators while the condition of other patients is stable. Jayanthi Ravi said that 28,212 samples have so far been tested for corona virus in the state.
