Online cab aggregator Uber has started it will launch 500 e-rickshaws in Greater Kolkata.
The company will start for the first time three-wheeler micro mobility product on its app.
Now, travellers from Howrah, Barasat, Madhyamgram, Rajarhat and Salt Lake can use the Uber app to book the e-rickshaws.
The company also announced that all 500 e-rickshaws will be accessible from now onwards to passengers.
Earlier in November, the company launched 100 e-rickshaws in Delhi.
Last year, it had partnered with Yulu to launch micro mobility options as a pilot project in Bengaluru.
The move is to ensure that the company follows its mission to make all rides 100% emission-free by 2040.
