Mumbai: BSE Sensex and Nifty 50 have closed at record highs for the third consecutive day. The Sensex closed at 52773 and Nifty 15869 at the close of trading today. Half the stocks on Sensex and Nifty50 closed with gains and Asian Paint was the top gainer on both the exchanges. Talking about the Sensex, there was buying in all banking stocks except SBI.

Sensex and Nifty 50 closed with gains at the close of trading. During trading today, the Sensex opened at 52,751.83 points and reached 52,869.51 points. After this, after closing the business in the Sensex, it closed at 52,773.05 with a gain of 0.42 percent i.e. 221.52 points. Today 15 stocks closed with gains on the Sensex, while the remaining 15 stocks closed down. Apart from SBI, there was buying in other banking stocks on the Sensex today.

Talking about Nifty 50, it closed at 15,869.25 with a gain of 0.36 percent or 57.40 points. On Nifty, 25 stocks including Asian Paint, HDFC Life and Axis Bank closed with gains, while the remaining 25 stocks closed down.

On the BSE Sensex, the most buying in today’s trading day was in the shares of Asian Paint and Axis Bank. Asian Paint closed at Rs 3041.85 with a gain of 3.18 per cent. After Asian Paint, Axis Bank and ICICI Bank were the biggest buyers on the Sensex. Axis Bank rose 1.97 percent to Rs 750.75 and ICICI Bank rose 1.57 percent to Rs 645.05.

Bajaj Finserv and Dr Reddy’s were the top sellers on the Sensex today. Bajaj Finserv closed down 1.05 per cent at Rs 11805.95 and Dr Reddy’s fell 0.82 per cent to Rs 5414.90. After this Titan closed down 0.68 percent at Rs 1723.50.
